Hi friends,
This is Inessa Persekian @paperandbling and I'm excited to share my latest mini album with you! Creating memories with my boys is one of my greatest joys, and our trip to the zoo last summer was no exception. To capture every wild and wonderful moment, I turned to the Simple Stories Say Cheese Wild collection. This colorful, fun-filled collection perfectly complemented our adventure, and in this blog post, I’ll share how I used it to create a mini album that brings our day at the zoo to life.
For this album, I decided on a cinch spine and a 5x7" size so that I could fit larger photos. I started with my covers and double up on the papers and stitched them together with gold thread using my machine. I added bits & pieces, stickers and brads to decorate my cover. I also added a journaling block and palm tree sticker on the inside of my front cover.
The opening pages are a combination of a 3x4 cut apart and a full 5x7 page. I like to mix it up with page sizes and types (full size, pocket pages, pull out or flip ups) for a fun and interactive album.
My next page is a side pocket page and I created it by taking a 7.5x7" cut apart paper and folding it in half. I used my decorative border punch to create a pretty border on one side. I then stitched the edges leaving the decorated side open to slide in photos and ephemera. Add a tab, a tree ephemera and some stickers to finish it off. I added a bunch of 3x4 photos in my pocket. The back of this page has a 3x4 cut apart to rest the eye.
This page is a pull out with a pocket! I used a 7x12" piece and scored at 5" folding the paper together. I then folded the remainder the opposite way (creating a zig zag with the paper). This last little flap measures 2.75" and creates a pocket. I stitched with gold thread all around leaving the side open to create the pocket. I decorated with some floral bits, journaling bits and enamel dots and brads.
On the inside of this page, I added an assortment of photos in 4x6 and 3x4 sizes. Since the photos are larger in size, I kept embellishments to a minimum.
The back of the pull out/pocket page has another cut apart and the opposite page has two 3x4 photos.
My final page features a photo of my boys on a carousel at the zoo. I create a mini layout adding bits & pieces, stickers and a hand drawn letter title. I also added a journaling spot to the inside of the back cover.
I hope you enjoyed the album walkthrough as much as I did creating it!
Have a fabulous day and see you next month!
