A Playful Layout with Game Night
Hello, crafty friends! Today I’m so excited to share a project created with the incredibly fun and colorful Game Night collection! This line instantly brings smiles with its playful board game icons: money bills inspired by classic property-trading games, tiny pawns, dice, game pieces, cards, and all those little details that make family game nights so special.
Even though I didn’t have photos of us actually playing board games, I knew I wanted to document a moment that captured that same joyful spirit. My son absolutely loves games and spending time laughing with family, so I chose some photos of him having the best time during a fun day.
For this layout, I was especially inspired by one of the patterned papers that features four game board designs on a single 12x12 sheet. Instead of using it as one full background, I divided it visually into four mini layouts, treating each quadrant as its own little scene. It felt like creating four playful “rounds” of a game on one page!
I decorated each section with photos and layered embellishments, mixing Bits & Pieces, chipboard elements, and enamel dots to add dimension and texture. The bold colors and graphic patterns made it easy to build fun clusters, and I love how the page feels interactive.
This project is a reminder that collections don’t have to be used in an obvious way. Even if you’re not documenting an actual game night, you can still capture the spirit of fun, connection, and shared laughter. And sometimes, dividing your layout into smaller sections is the perfect creative twist to spark something new!
