Hey there Simple Stories fans, it’s Lory here today to share with you some scrapbook page ideas. I have created two layouts with the beautiful Hearth & Home collection. It has so many warm colors and a lot of beautiful coordinating embellishments.
I used the stencil and some watercolor to put cute little hearts and homes on to my layouts. It’s what really matters in our life and I wanted to celebrate it with my pages. Sometimes we just need to focus on our families, be really present for it and forget the rest, turning off all the nowaday distractions. Family is my safe place where I feel protected and I can really be myself! Don’t you think? I feel so grateful!
Let’s start talking about the creative process.
For the first page, I created a line of hearts using different patterned papers and two black and white photos. All of the hearts go through a white thread and are stapled on the top and the bottom of the page. Once I have all the hearts I started to fill my page with many little details, some phrases, puffy stickers, chipboard stickers, and homes, just colored with a light yellow ink or drawn with a pencil using the beautiful stencil of this collection.
On the left side I stuck two triangles of papers and used a fussy cut flower. I love to play with the materials and not overthink. Among all the hearts I added little houses and little foam hearts.
For the second page I cut a big heart and filled it with watercolors using the same palette of the collection. My idea was to create a cluster of journaling, photos and embellishments. I added a heart to remind the name of the collection :) that is really meaningful and cool. Before I place embellishments, I added a tag with the beautiful thought by Mother Teresa and my picture. I added a lot of drops of white ink, then I added my handwritten journaling around the heart. I think the final effect is so cute. Of course I choose a black and white picture.
Here are some more details, I don’t know about you, but I love the patterned paper with the tags! I love them to write my journaling or just to add to pocket pages and scrapbook layouts in many different ways.
At last I just added a little title using the foam stickers, the word “blessed”.
