It's Nathalie with you today to share a new project featuring the bright and fun TOTALLY 80's collection. I was a teen in the late eighties, so I clearly remember the looks, the colors, the excess, the layers. Sadly, we lost most of our photos when we moved to Canada. Instead, I am using the ideas of the era to create a new layout with more recent photos.
It all started with the idea of layers. So, I decided to cut a square from the inside of the For Sure paper and adhere the outside frame to the Mix Tape paper. Then flip the paper and carefully folded one of the corners to create a right corner pocket.
Once the fold was set, I carefully glued the unfolded piece of paper on the Elements 2 paper leaving a small offset outside the straight edge. I carefully cut the bottom paper at the edge of the fold on the top paper. Using foam adhesive, I attached the folded piece to the center of the frame,
I backed my photos with 3x4 Journaling Cards and attached them on a slight angle at the folded corner of the paper. Since there is a lot of pattern surrounding the photos, I decided to add just a few embellishments to the corners of the photos.
To balance the photos, I decided to bring a large number of embellishments to the top right corner of the page as if they are coming off the inside of the folded flap. Foam adhesive was key to helping with separating the elements while adding dimension to the cluster.
To finish the page, I combined foam stickers to create a title at the bottom of the photos, then added the arrow ephemera pieces to bring it all together.
I have to say that this layout reminds me so much of the era and what I remember of it. I cannot wait to see what you are creating with the fun TOTALLY 80's collection.
