Hello friends! It’s Ali, @funadventureswithali, sharing a totally rad layout featuring my awesome friend Jana and the amazing Caboodle gift she gave me using the Totally 80’s collection!
I was beyond stoked when Jana surprised the girls at our table during the Simple Stories retreat last October with colorful Caboodles. Talk about bringing back all the memories! I immediately flashed back to my teenage years in the 80s. I had a pink Caboodle and absolutely loved it. Jana filled ours with so many fun 80s goodies, and it made my heart so happy to reminisce about those carefree days. Suddenly, I wanted to throw my hair into a banana clip or pull it up into a scrunchie ponytail!
The Totally 80’s collection was absolutely calling for these photos. The bright colors, fun patterns, and nostalgic icons were a perfect match. I used four different patterned papers and layered strips across the page to create a bold and colorful foundation. Next, I created a banner using pieces from the Totally 80’s element paper and tucked bright fuchsia grid die cuts underneath each side. I love how it adds texture and extra dimension to the page.
For embellishing, I had so much fun adding foam stickers, brads, and die cuts throughout the layout. And come on — that bottle of Aqua Net was absolutely screaming to be included on this page… and honestly, right inside my Caboodle too! Between the fun 80s shapes, hearts, and stars, I felt like I was reliving my teenage years all over again.
To finish it off, I sprinkled enamel dots around my three embellishment clusters for the perfect finishing touch.
I hope you think this layout is totally rad and maybe even want to become besties! Because let’s be honest… the 80s totally rock!
