Hello friends, it’s @vickiscraps here today to share a layout using the gorgeous Pumpkins & Plaid collection. I absolutely love autumn collections and the colours in this one are just beautiful – all those oranges, greens, pinks and teals work so perfectly together.
For this layout I used a couple of photos of my gorgeous boy amongst the pumpkins and autumn displays, so of course Pumpkins & Plaid was the perfect collection to use!
I started by cutting seven rectangles from different patterned papers and arranged them across the centre of a piece of white cardstock. I kept them fairly uniform in size but staggered them slightly to give the page a more relaxed feel. I also repeated some of the same papers along the top and bottom edges of the page to help frame the whole design.
Before sticking everything down, I added some mixed media behind the papers using teal, yellow and pink inks. I kept this quite loose with a few splatters around the edges – just enough to peek out from behind the papers and add another layer of colour.
I added my two photos across the top of the main block of papers, slightly overlapping them and raising them on foam to give some extra dimension.
For my title, I used the letters from the Color Vibe Foam Alpha Stickers to spell out PUMPKIN, placing each letter onto a different patterned paper. I love how the different colours and patterns make such a fun feature across the page.
I tucked some die cuts and chipboard leaves underneath the title too, letting them hang down at different lengths. I love the extra texture and movement these add.
Of course, I couldn’t resist all of the gorgeous autumn embellishments in this collection! I created clusters around either side of my photos using pumpkins and mushrooms, layering the pieces and raising some on foam for lots of dimension.
I also added a few Decorative Brads around the page – they’re always one of my favourite little finishing touches and work perfectly amongst all of the patterned papers.
Finally, I added the pumpkin cluster towards the bottom of the page to connect the lower row of patterned papers back to the main design. I really like how repeating the pumpkins and papers around the page brings everything together while still leaving plenty of white space.
I absolutely love how colourful and autumnal this layout turned out. Pumpkins & Plaid is such a fun collection and was perfect for these photos – although I think it would work beautifully for so many autumn memories.
