Hello friends! Celes here (@guiademanualidades), and today I’m sharing a project filled with color, nostalgia, and a very special kind of magic. Some memories feel magical from the very first second, and this photo from one of my visits to Epcot at Disney is definitely one of them. For this Magical Memories Layout, I used the sweet and playful Happiest Mouse collection from Simple Stories to bring back all that park excitement: the colors, the icons, the tickets, the stars, and that feeling of being surrounded by joy everywhere you look.
I loved making the photo the heart of the page and creating a big circular composition around it, almost like a little world of memories spinning around one special moment. It is a layout full of fun details, happy layers, and a touch of Disney magic… because some photos deserve the whole parade, confetti included ;)
Base of the layout
The base of the layout will be made with two cardstock papers from the collection. I used item #26215 from the Collection Kit — the colorful confetti paper — as the main base. I cut out the center of the paper, leaving a 2 1/2" square outer frame, and set the remaining piece aside.
Then, I added item #26222 from the Simple Basics Kit — the blue cardstock — as the second cardstock to build the base of my layout. I cut it to 10 1/2" x 10 1/2".
My photo is circular and measures 5 3/4" in diameter. I also created a 1/4" thick frame for it using white glitter cardstock. The measurements for this frame are: 6 1/4" outer diameter and 6" inner diameter.
Tip: Use a circle cutter to cut these pieces.
Decorative details
Adhere the photo, centered on the blue cardstock, and then add the frame. Use foam adhesive for both pieces—you can even use different thicknesses to create more dimension.
Start building the composition with the title. I combined one of the foam sticker pieces with one of the chipboard pieces and placed it at the bottom of the photo, slightly toward the right.
For the rest of the circle, combine different decorative pieces from the collection. The key here is to keep adding everything in layers. You can mix and match the elements you love the most.
Once the larger elements around the frame are in place, add smaller details such as stars and arrows. The idea is to make the composition look colorful, playful, and fun.
When the decoration is ready, cut pink strips from item #26211 from the Collection Kit. I chose the pink ones.
Bring the centerpiece to the confetti frame base and adhere it with 3D foam adhesive.
Add the pink strips to create a frame, also using 3D foam adhesive.
As a final detail, punch some blue confetti circles from the leftover confetti cardstock from the base. I used a 1/2" circle punch. Then, punch smaller circles from glitter paper. I used a 3/8" circle punch for these. Adhere them to the intersections of the pink strips that form the frame. To finish, add a few pink enamel dots.
Tip: One final detail I always love adding is watercolor splatters. For this layout, I used white watercolor.
