Hi Friends! Andrea with you today sharing a fun layout using the brand new ‘America de Beautiful’ collection by Simple Stories. It is all about layers, stripes, and stars for me today as I worked on a page to remember our first visit to the United States as a family in 2015.
The moment I saw this collection and all its elements, I knew exactly what photo I wanted to use to go with it. I fussy cut the 4x6 card with the Statue of Liberty, the American flag, and many of the rosettes from the rosette patterned paper.
I selected a blue and red strip of Color Vibe cardstock and layered them one on top of the other ¾” from the bottom edge of the background. I added the scalloped flag sticker on the top edge of the red cardstock strip and used it to anchor my photo and fussy cut Statue of Liberty and Flag. I matted my photo using the yellow stars patterned paper and added foam adhesive to pop it off the page.
I added foam squares to the back of the ‘America the beautiful’ cardstock sticker and used it for my title. I trimmed a 3x4 journaling card and added it to the left of the title to write my journaling. I added a floral sticker to the left corner of the journaling card.
I created three rosette and stars clusters and arranged them in a visual triangle on the top section of the page, around my photo and big elements. I used regular double-sided tape and foam tape to create some dimension and add more interest to the page.
I finished the layout by adding some white pops of color drops around the clusters, title, and journaling spot.
I hope this project inspires you to get creative using the ‘America the Beautiful’ collection by Simple Stories. Let me know if you have any questions. I would love to see what you create with it.
