Hello Simple Stories friends. Karlla here, and I'm so happy to share this project with you.
For this project, I’m using the beautiful "Simple Vintage Lavender Fields" collection. It is simply incredible. I have a huge passion for bees and honeycombs... and lavender is my favorite flower. With this perfect combo, I felt it was only fitting to use a photo of just myself for this layout—LOL!
Since becoming a mom, I rarely take photos alone or appear in any of them.
I love adding dimension to my projects, but without making them look cluttered. With that in mind, I opted for a sketch with a primary focus on the diagonal. As a base, I created a layered arrangement using the "3x4 Elements" and "Violet" papers.
Using the "Just Bee You," "Beautiful Moments," and "Stay Golden" papers, cut a final strip approximately 0.5" wide.
I made folds without making the strips too straight and glued them onto the base. After that, I sewed stitches down the center of each strip to finish it off (this is optional).
Using a combination of the "Bits & Pieces" and "Chipboard Pieces" kits, I created a base for the photo. The photo is mounted on three layers of foam tape, so all the embellishments beneath it are layered with fewer layers of foam.
For the title "Just Be You," look in "Journal Bits & Pieces."
The arrangement at the top is also a "Bits & Pieces" cup, and I added some honeycomb details that you can find in the "Cardstock Stickers Icons."
To finish the layout, I added the beautiful "Decorative Brads."
I loved creating this layout, and I was able to pour all my feelings into it. I hope you like it and find inspiration in it. I can't wait to see your creations!
