I Put A Spell On You! by Marsha Farris

I Put A Spell On You! by Marsha Farris
Hey, Simple Stories friends! Marsha here, and I'm excited to share an album I created using the new Spooky Nights collection. This is such a spooktacular collection, full of colors, icons, and patterns that are just perfect for October projects! I used it to create a Halloween memories album and plan to fill it with Halloween photos taken over the years.

For my project today, I chose to use a Black 6x8 SN@P Binder. I love working in the 6x8 size and this album can hold so many pages! To decorate the cover, I used a patterned paper from the collection kit and trimmed it to the size of the album. Next, I chose a patterned paper from the 6x8 paper pad as a base for the design and machine stitched around the edges of the page. I embellished it with a variety of stickers and die cut bits and pieces. I also included a tag from the Tags paper and bits of trim from my stash.

For the first page, I used one of the patterned papers included with the SN@P binder. The black dot pattern was perfect for this collection! I used a 4x6 journal card from the collection kit to create a fun interactive door element. I used a piece of thin paper to create the hinge for the flip and folded and stapled a circular die cut from the journal bits to keep it closed. I love the cute little spider puffy sticker!

The door opens to reveal spots for journaling and a photo. I had fun adding puffy and cardstock sticker ghosts to the page, along with die cuts, a phrase sticker, and washi tape.

For the next page, I used another paper from the 6x8 paper pad. I always love the papers included in the paper pads. They make creating mini albums so quick and easy! I used the puffy stickers from this collection to add to the pre-printed Halloween Faves design.

I enjoy using pocket pages in my albums because they are a great way to include the cut apart journal cards. I added foam stickers and cardstock stickers for a bit of simple embellishing.

I also included decorative brads, enamel dots, and chipboard stickers to embellish the pocket page,

The next page in the album uses a trimmed pocket page that includes 2x2 pockets. I used some of the cut apart elements from the collection kit to fill the pockets and, then, decorated them simply with chipboard and cardstock stickers. I also used sequins from my stash to fill two of the pockets. I love the see-through element this provides.

Next, I used another patterned paper included with the album as my base page. I machine stitched around the edges of two cut apart cards from the collection kit and created pockets to hold tags.

For the final page of the album, I used a trimmed patterned paper as the base page and created a vellum pocket. I tucked a few of the cut apart elements into the pocket and added trim, foam and cardstock stickers, and decorative brads to embellish the page. I like including a large pocket in my albums because it provides the perfect spot to tuck additional photos and ephemera pieces.
I had so much fun creating this Halloween album using the new Spooky Nights collection!  Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I will see you again soon with more inspiration!
