Hi there friends! Tya here! It’s my turn up on the blog today sharing my latest batch of handmade cards! This time I got the pleasure of working with the super sweet “Apron Strings” collection. I adored this collection so much! It reminded me of spending time in my grandma’s kitchen watching her make all her delicious food and yummy treats… such a precious memory to me.
I made eight cards with this collection and had so much fun playing with all the cheery icons and papers. These have a little bit of a vintage-y feel to them and made for some really fun cards! Here are some close ups of each of the cards:
The Bits and Pieces ephemera in this collection had my heart! With lots of mixing bowls, wooden spoons, and yummy desserts- I could create all day! It was hard picking my favorites to use!
I sure do love the pattern paper with all of the 2x2 inch squares on it. I featured 3 of the squares on this card and then dressed them up a little bit more with some of the Bits and Pieces and Chipboard stickers. These add great dimension!
I also REALLY like the pattern paper with all of the tags on them. Here I layered two tags on top of one another - one tag had just a pretty floral pattern on it, the other had my sentiment. This is a fun way to add interest as well! There are so many ways you can layer and decorate these tags up!
I wanted to share a quick design tip here with this card – so there isn’t a pink or a wood grain pattern paper in this collection on a whole sheet of paper… but, there are little strips of these papers in the 6x8 paper pads on other papers – so I just trimmed off the little bit that I needed, and they fit perfect on this card. I love the 6x8 paper pads and love to find creative ways to use up every last bit of paper I can!
This card features one of the cards from the 4x4 Element paper! Don’t forget about these papers for card making! I just needed to trim the edges a little bit for this cute square to fit on my card front. It made the perfect sentiment!
How cute is this old fashioned stove? It just had to make an appearance on a card! I loved decorating this card around that die cut!
I had a ball creating these cards and know that you will to! I hope I have inspired you to create some cards of your own using the “Apron Strings” collection! Thank you for stopping by today! Happy Crafting Friends!
