Hello, crafty friends! Celes here (@guiademanualidades), and today I am sharing my Happy Memories Layout created with the bright and playful “Color Me Happy” collection from Simple Stories. For this project, I chose some very special photos with my love, Sebastián—my medio pomelo—from one of those trips we always remember with full hearts. Many of the little elements in this composition have a special meaning connected to our travel memories, so I wanted the layout to feel like a collection of tiny scenes: photos, colors, icons, words, and details that tell our story in a fun and meaningful way. The bold pink frame, clean white background, and happy layers were the perfect combination to celebrate those memories that still make us smile.

Of course, for me, scrapbooking is always about much more than placing pretty things on a page, and this layout is a perfect example of that. I wanted each row to feel like a little window into our trip, mixing color, texture, and meaningful icons that bring back specific moments, places, and feelings we shared together. The Color Me Happy collection gave me the perfect playful language to tell that story: bright colors for the joy, sweet everyday icons for the memories, and lots of small details that make the page feel personal, layered, and full of love.
Base of the layout
The base of the layout will be one of the cardstock papers from the collection. I used item #26508, and the vibrant pink color is simply wonderful.
On top of this cardstock, I added a piece of white textured cardstock measuring 11 1/2" x 11 1/2". Then, I shaped the edges using a ruler and my hands.
Tip: If you want to make the most of the collection paper, you can cut a 1" frame and remove the centerpiece to use in another project.

Decorative details
We will mark three guidelines to prepare the compositions, and we will work by color block.
The first line will be light blue/turquoise, the second one green/yellow, and the third one pink/fuchsia.
Mark three guidelines: the first one approximately 3" from the edge of the white cardstock, the second one approximately 6" from the edge of the white cardstock, and the third one approximately 9 1/2" from the edge of the white cardstock.
We will begin with the composition on the first line, using the light blue/turquoise color block. For this line, I used one of the chipboard frames. Keep in mind that some of the elements are adhered with 3D foam adhesive to add dimension.
Next, we will continue with the composition on the second line, using the green/yellow color block. Here, the photo will be added only with 3D foam adhesive.
Finally, we will create the composition on the third line, using the pink/fuchsia color block. This is where the journaling for the layout will go. I created it using washi paper and printed it with my printer. The size of the text frame is 2 3/4" wide x 2" tall. The three main words, made from foam and chipboard, are also added with 3D foam adhesive.
Tip: As an extra detail, you can add gold watercolor splatters or create a soft background for each line using the same colors from each color block.

Creating this Happy Memories Layout was such a lovely way to bring back one of those trips that will always have a special place in my heart. I love how the Color Me Happy collection helped me mix color, photos, journaling, and meaningful little details in a fresh and playful way. Every row has its own story, its own color, and its own tiny reminders of those moments with Sebastián that still make me smile. I hope this layout inspires you to look through your favorite photos, choose the ones that hold a special memory, and create a page that feels completely yours. I would love to see your version, so don’t forget to tag me @guiademanualidades if you make one! See you next time!
