Hello Simple Stories friends, Karlla here and I'm so glad to share this project with you. We live in Dallas, so beach moments are almost a rarity for us.
However, whenever we're in Florida, we make the most of it, whether it's sunny and hot or cold! LOL.
Today, I'm going to look back on one of those days using the BEAUTIFUL "Simple Vintage Sand & Sea" Collection.
This collection features a beautiful combination of colors and contrast. To create a focal point, I chose the "Seashell Vintage Basics Kit" paper as my base.
For the overlays, "Stay Salty" and "Shore is Fun" were my choices. I created a smaller layered arrangement of these two papers, finished with machine stitching, and placed it atop the "Seashell" background.
I then cut a smaller square from the "Journal Elements" paper and mounted it using foam tape over the work I had previously assembled.
With the "6x8 Paper Pad," I cut two triangles from the lighthouse paper and the red paper with mini dots. I added them at different heights using foam tape against the background.
I love creating arrangements with embellishments and flowers, and these little details add extra charm to the layout. I created one of these details in the top-left corner, also leaving the loose ends of the stitching trailing over the decoration.
I used the triangles as a base for the photos and the central decoration of the layout. I adhered the two photos using layers of foam tape, and around them, I created a mixed-media arrangement using "Bits & Pieces," florals, journaling cards, chipboard, and stickers. For the title, I used the phrase "Great Escape" from the "Bits & Pieces" collection. To finish it off and what I consider the cutest details, I added "Decorative Brads." I absolutely adore them, and I grouped them together with some delicate "Enamel Dots."
I'm simply IN LOVE with this collection and this layout. I had so much fun creating it, and I hope you can feel all the love I poured into it.
