Hey friends, it’s Inessa, and I’m so happy to be back on the Simple Stories blog today! I have a 4x6 Snap Binder Album to share, created to celebrate Thanksgiving 2024 at our cousin’s new home. My goal is to give this to him as a keepsake, with space to add more pictures from his own collection.
I started with the blush album and covered the front with a mix of paper strips—eight in total. Four of them were fussy-cut from patterned paper, including pink and red designs, while the rest came from the journal elements and 3x4 elements papers which I punched a decorative edge. To add texture, I ruffled the edges of the strips. I then layered and added a few dollies ephemera and placed the foam “Family Gathers Here” sticker on top and wrapped two pieces of ribbon around the cover. For a finishing touch, I created a small dangling charm using twine and two adhesive brads.
Inside the front cover, I added stickers and a journaling ephemera, while the inside back cover features a chipboard tag, more stickers, butterflies, and decorative brads.
For the album pages, I mixed 4x6 pocket pages with 3x4 pocket pages, which are available separately at scrapbook stores. The title page is a 4x6 cut-apart card that says, "Our Family," embellished with chipboard, enamel dots, and a banner. Throughout the album, I alternated between 4x6, 3x4 photos and element papers to create a balance of memories and decorative elements.
For the family page, I stitched a white border around the background and added the "Family" foam sticker with foam adhesive. I also added a banner, wooden houses, and finished the page with three decorative brads.
One of my favorite details is the sequin pocket page, which adds a fun, interactive element. I filled a pocket with sequins that matched the collection’s colors, then stitched around the edges with white thread to seal it. On the opposite side, I added stickers, and on the back, I placed chipboard butterflies and more enamel dots.
For the opposite page, I used a circular chipboard frame, placing it over a 4x6 element paper that says "Collecting Memories" on the backside. A few floral bits, stickers, enamel dots, and a yellow brad completed the look.
I also added stickers and foam accents to a 3x4 cut-apart page featuring a sweet photo of my son and me. A camera sticker layered on top added the perfect finishing touch.
