Fall is one of my favorite seasons to document, and the Pumpkins & Plaid collection from Simple Stories was perfect for pulling together some of my favorite fall memories into one little album.
For this project, I used the 4x6 Flipbook in Robin’s Egg. I love the smaller size of these albums because they come together quickly, but there is still plenty of room for photos, patterned papers, and embellishments. I also added a few of the inserts that hold two 3x4 cards, which gave me another way to mix up the pages as you flip through the album.
For the cover, I kept the Robin’s Egg color showing and added metallic stitching around the edge for a little extra texture and detail. I created a cluster using Bits & Pieces, brads, and the large foam title. I love how all of the different layers and textures came together while still keeping the cover fairly simple.
Inside the album, I used a mix of 3x4 and 4x6 Elements along with my photos. Some pages are almost completely photo-focused, while others have more patterned paper and embellishments. I love alternating between the two because it gives the album a really fun flow and lets the photos stay the focus.
I also tucked in a few extra interactive pieces throughout the album. Tags, tabs, twine, flips, and smaller embellishment clusters add little details that peek out from the pages and make the album feel extra special. On some pages I used the 3x4 and 4x6 Elements almost like ready-made mini layouts, adding just a few embellishments before slipping them into the pockets.
One of my favorite things about this album is that it holds such a mix of fall memories—from family outings and pumpkin-filled days to coffee runs, baking at home, and fall races. They don’t all have to be from one event or even one day. Bringing them together in one album creates such a fun little snapshot of the season.
The colors in Pumpkins & Plaid are so pretty for fall too. I love the mix of traditional oranges and yellows with the softer pinks, greens, and blue. It makes the album feel warm and cozy.
This was such a fun album to put together, and I love having all of these everyday fall memories collected in one place. Sometimes the smaller albums are my favorite because they are easy to fill, fun to decorate, and perfect for telling the little stories of a season.
