Let's Wander! by Maria Celeste Gonzalo

Let's Wander! by Maria Celeste Gonzalo

Hi crafters! How are you today? It’s so good to be back! Today I have a different idea to propose to you …  Have you seen the “Safe Travels” Collection? It’s so beautiful! Think of traveling in a different way after this pandemic. I’m Celes from GuiadeManualidades.com and get ready to create shapes based on something you can buy in a store…

My base:

As the collection has so many beautiful embellishments, I chose one of them as my inspiration. It is the vintage camper that you can find in the chipboard stickers kit. But, you can choose a plane, a camera, a bag, a passport… anything you like. After choosing the element I went to a craft store and looked for some wood shapes. I found my vintage camper and I used it to create my pattern. If you have an electrical cutting machine you can make your shape with cardboard or you can even buy cardboard shapes.

The idea is to have something to transform in your travel mini album. Using my wood shape I drew the shape on a paper and transformed it into a cutting file for my cutting machine. Don´t panic if you don’t have a cutting machine because you can cut all your pages by hand :)

The idea of this project is to encourage you to find some wood/cardboard shapes, make a pattern of them and create a mini album.

Once you have your shape, you can cut 5 or 6 pages and have a metal ring handy. If you are wondering how to drill the wood… just use a drill with a wood bit that is the right size for your ring  ;)

Cover:

Time to make our cover… And I must say that I decorated the front and the back cover…. simply I love it! Simple but sweet and colorful! Love this cover!

I covered both covers with the Mint Textured Cardstock (#13428) and I used the White Textured Cardstock for the inside of them. Beside that I cut 4mm strips of Robin’s Egg Textured Cardstock and other even thinner foil strips. Glued them to both covers and I prepared the decoration of the windows. I made 2 paper planters and 2 pairs of paper curtains. The final touches were flowers and two phrases (one from the chipboard stickers kit and one from the foam stickers kit).

Note: I added foil strips on the edge of both covers and I used some grey paper for small details of the vintage camper.

For the Album:

I cut all my pages in white cardstock and made an extra pattern of the camper a bit smaller to cut it in design papers. You can do the same or not, it’s your choice ;)

To decorate the mini album I used all I had… die cuts, stickers, puffy stickers, chipboards, washi tapes, adhesive brads. Besides, I made simple but special structures for some of the pages. It’s a mini album that has a lot of space for photos ;) Do not forget to make the hole for the ring in all the pages.

I hope you like this idea!

Have a lovely weekend!
