Hello friends! It's Dorymar here today. It's a new year and a fresh start, and the best part is creating new memories to document. Today, I'm excited to share my 2024 recap featuring the wonderful "For the Record" collection. Let’s take a look!
What I love about the “For the Record” collection is how beautiful the designs are! On the cover, I want to showcase what I plan to include inside the album, capturing all my wonderful moments from the year.
I included a title on the inside cover and in the first divider to introduce what you are going to see: A Year in Review! It’s so much fun!
In the first two pages, I organized several flaps showcase my favorite photos by month. Inside, you'll find a visual summary of my life throughout the year. One of the best aspects of this collection, apart from the beautiful patterns and designs, is the abundance of perfect quotes that capture my experiences. You can find these quotes scattered throughout my album.
To create my flaps, I used the Coral Color Vibe paper. The small flaps measure 2.25" x 5.5". The photos inside are 2" x 2.25". For the large flaps I used the floral paper from the 6x8 paper pad, and its size is 3"x8", the photos inside are 2.5" x 3.5". I love the way the pages turn out.
I will showcase my typical style each month, featuring layering, flaps, pockets, and more. Each month I want to highlight my favorite photos while also providing space for journaling.
The collection presents various options for titling your months. You can find the full names of the months in different formats, including abbreviations, numerical representations, and lowercase letters. If you check my pages, you'll see all the styles I incorporated.
I had many adventures throughout the year, but June was filled with the most critical moments. The highlight of the month was my youngest daughter's high school graduation, followed by my Scrapbook event in Puerto Rico, which was purely enjoyable, and my oldest daughter's birthday. To document the numerous beautiful photos on just two pages, I created collages and incorporated flaps. To enhance the pages, I designed several clusters using the beautiful embellishments from the collection.
July was a quieter month for me, but it is also my birthday month. To document this occasion, I created an accordion-style book that measures 12"x4" and has a fold every 3 inches. This accordion includes a journal pocket. I glued the first square on the right side to the base, and with the first two squares on the left, I crafted a pocket by gluing only three sides to create an opening at the top. To keep everything in place, I used a ribbon that matches the collection. It's so fun! I love it!
I am thrilled with the results of this project! The "For the Record" collection is a must-have for documenting your year, whether you choose to create layouts or a mini album like mine.
