Hello Simple Stories friends, Becki here, to share a layout with you that I created using the Simple Vintage October 31st collection. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I couldn’t wait for this collection to land on my doorstep. I dug into the box and created this layout on the same night!
One of the first things I reach for in every Simple Stories collection is the chipboard frames. I have so much fun creating with them! I was thrilled to find a chipboard frame that worked perfectly with the photos that I wanted to use on this layout.
The second thing I chose for this layout was the background paper. How could I NOT choose this gorgeous black gingham paper?!? It was my immediate favorite! I only wanted a bit of other patterned paper to the background because I wanted that gingham to shine. Whenever I need a little bit of patterned paper I always reach for the 6x8 paper pad. I cut 4 strips of 1” x 8” patterned paper and adhered them on the left side of the page. Then, I stitched them in place with my sewing machine and black thread.
Along the right side of the layout, I added my photos, title and journaling. I was sure to add a lot of layers around the title and photos. Of course, I turned to chipboard and foam stickers to create those chunky layers.
To balance everything out and create a place for the date, I created an embellishment cluster in the opposite corner (upper left corner) with a few die cuts, chipboard, and foam stickers.
I am so happy with how this layout came together and I cannot wait to create another one. I’m thinking that I’d like to create a mini album too! What are you going to create with the Simple Vintage Oct. 31st collection? Thank you for stopping by the Simple Stories blog! Happy crafting, friends!
