Hello crafty friends! Today I’m sharing a set of festive fall cards created with the beautiful Pumpkins and Plaid collection from Simple Stories. This collection is filled with everything I love about fall—warm plaids, cozy florals, pumpkins, woodland critters, gorgeous autumn colors, and the sweetest seasonal sentiments. I had so much fun mixing patterned papers with all of the adorable bits and pieces from the collection to create eight unique cards. I used mainly the 6x8 paper pad, all the ephemera, Decorative Brads, enamel dots, and the Icon and Basic Cardstock stickers. Let’s take a closer look!
Thankful
For my first card, I started with the pretty brown floral patterned paper from the 6x8 paper pad and layered a large kraft doily over the background to add some texture. I tucked a large yellow journaling piece behind the focal point and then layered the adorable deer over a framed woodland scene. I added the acorn and tiny flower along the bottom before placing the large “thankful” sentiment across the front. A few button embellishments in the upper corner added another pop of color, and I finished the card with natural twine tied into a loose bow. I love all of the layers on this one and how perfectly they capture that warm, cozy feeling of fall.

Baby, It’s Fall Outside
I couldn’t resist making this card with that adorable pink “Baby, it’s fall outside” 3X4 card! I layered it over a Brown Petite Print, orange floral, and green plaid background along with a coordinating fall scene featuring a ladder, blankets, and flowers. Along the bottom, I added a strip of green plaid paper to bring in another color and pattern. The little hedgehog, plaid leaf, and cluster of colorful pumpkins from the Foam Stickers were layered across the bottom to create a sweet little autumn scene. I added some stitching around the paper layers for extra detail, then punched a hole in the top of the journaling card and finished it with twine and a decorative brad.

Grateful Tags
This card was all about the tags! I started with a dark woodgrain and colorful leaf patterned paper and layered a soft neutral panel over the center. I chose three different tags from the 6x8 paper pad in aqua, orange, and burgundy and lined them up across the card. Each tag received its own little grouping of embellishments—the first with a large leaf and “blessed” sticker sentiment, the middle with the bold “Grateful” sentiment and foam hearts, and the last with the cutest little bird and mushrooms. I added coordinating enamel dots to each tag and tied natural twine through the tag holes. A strip of rich brown ribbon along the bottom gives the card a little extra texture and finishes everything off beautifully.

The Best
For this card, I wanted to play with lots of layers and some of the wonderful ephemera pieces in the collection. I started with a green patterned background and added strips of orange floral and dark woodgrain paper along the left side. I wrapped natural twine around the woodgrain strip several times and tied it into a bow for a rustic touch. Next, I layered several journaling and label pieces of ephemera in the center of the card before adding the large orange tree. The sweet fox and floral cluster became the main focal point along the bottom. I finished the card with a plaid decorative brad on the tree and the little dimensional “Hello” chipboard banner near the top.

All the Fall Feels
This card has such a pretty, feminine fall feel! I started with the warm mustard floral-patterned paper and layered a dark woodgrain panel over the bottom portion of the card. A kraft doily was tucked behind a small envelope and pink journaling card to create lots of dimension. I added the “all the fall feels” foam sticker banner across the top and layered a large floral piece along the right side. The woodgrain pumpkin was added near the front and tied with natural twine for a little extra texture. Two long pink banner strips tucked underneath the floral cluster add softness and help draw the eye down the card. A couple of sparkly enamel dots were the perfect finishing touch.

Happy Fall Y’all
I love the bright, cheerful colors on this card! I started with a sunny Daffodil Petite Print background and layered an angled piece of orange plaid along the left side. A large plaid tag became the foundation for my focal point, and I tied twine through the top before adding the cute “Happy” chipboard banner. I layered the sweet owl over a colorful leafy tree and then added the large “Fall Y’all” sentiment across the center. A cluster of pink, yellow, and white pumpkins along the bottom completed the little fall scene. I also added a narrow scallop red border sticker near the bottom and some stitching around the edges for a bit more texture and detail.

I Love Fall Most of All
This card might just be one of my favorites! I started with a brown card base and added a soft pink leafy patterned paper on top. I cut a kraft doily in half, and they were layered across the middle to create a beautiful textured backdrop. I then added a large floral pumpkin piece and layered the adorable squirrel holding an acorn over the top. A decorative brad adds a little shine and dimension to the pumpkin, while a strip of aqua patterned paper and brown ribbon running behind the focal point help break up the layers. I finished the card with the “I love Fall most of all” ticket sentiment along the bottom, a tiny heart embellishment, and a simple twine bow at the top.

I had so much fun creating this set of cards with the Pumpkins and Plaid collection from Simple Stories. I love how easy it is to mix and match the patterned papers, tags, sentiments, florals, pumpkins, and adorable woodland critters to create cards that are each completely different while still coordinating beautifully together.
Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope these cards have inspired you to pull out your favorite fall supplies and create some festive fall greetings of your own for the special people in your life. There’s just something extra special about sending a handmade card—and fall is the perfect season to let someone know how grateful you are for them.
